Preparation Time:10-15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20-35 minutes
Total Time: Approximately 45-50 minutes
Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.
In a rice cooker or a pot, add the milk, rice, and a pinch of salt. Cook until the rice is about 75% done.
In a small pan, heat the ghee. Add the cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, and all the nuts and raisins. Fry until the nuts are golden brown.
Add the fried nuts and spices to the partially cooked rice. Also, add the saffron milk and sugar. Mix everything well.
Finish Cooking: Cover and cook the rice until it is fully done and the milk is absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
Serve: Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
